The Olympic Torch in our town

Ok so I know I said I wasn't going to be writing for awhile, but the Olympic Torch came through our city last night, which was pretty cool. so I thought I would share some photo's with you.

First we went downtown to watch the torch go by, we heard that at the cauldren lighting there was going to be around 10,000 people there so we decided to go downtown where it would be a little quieter.......

Here's the torch.......

And there goes the torch.....

So that was over pretty quick, alot of build up then it's done. So we decided to head up the hill to the University and go join in the celebration.

My kids and I with one of the torch runners

Here is Nancy Green passing off the torch to Mark Recchi

Looks Great!!! A small amount of disorganization in our little town. We were sent to listen to a bunch of mucy mucks, and the big trucks with all the music turned off 400 feet away and went down another road. An unknown Torchbearer comes past us without the torch on fire. after scratching our heads for 5 mins, an unknown torchbearer with flame runs past us and quickly lights the other torchbearer who immediately leaves and runs out of sight. Then like lemmings we all disperse. Starts 9:00am over by 9:20. no entertainment.....But they did hand out a bowl of soup and a sandwich for lunch. LOL

That's awesome that the kids got to hold it.

Very cool! That reminds me of when we went downtown to see the Tour dePont (or something like that). I sat with 1 stroller & a toddler and waited forever, then this big pack of bikes came through so fast that if you blinked, you'd miss it. Unfortunately, we didn't have the events that you had afterward.
Have a great weekend.
